D80287-10 Intel Unique Collectible CERDIP 80287-10 UOS Ceramic Math Coprocessor

Semiconductors & Parts

This is an Intel 80287 math coprocessor for a 286 system. It is rated for 10 MHz.
The 287 was basically the same core as an 8087 but using an asynchronous interface to the 286 bus. It could therefore be run at a different clock rate than the 286. Like in the original AT, the 286 ran at 6 MHz and the 287 at 4 MHz. Most later systems ran them at the same speed, like the IBM PS/2 models 50 and 60. There were also improved versions, the XL and XLT. The latter was actually a 387 chip in a 287 package and was much faster.

Although this chip was working when stored, consider it sold completely AS-IS, and please bid accordingly if you are concerned about the possibility of damage in transit. Thanks for your understanding.
