This scanner uses an SCSI port (not included). It includes 2 sets of cables and a SCSI cable adapter in case you have a DB25 scsi port in the computer or if you have a high density connector SCSI2. The most important part of this item is that I will include an stand alone program, no need to install, and works in any windows platform where you have an ASPI SCSI layer installed for your SCSI interface, and with this program even if you run it from a flash drive, will scan and save your images on the same directory were the program resides. It is only one program called photosmart.exe, and it is a life saver. I will also include the ASPI SCSI layer for adaptec SCSI interfaces. If you have an SCSI interface other than adaptec you may need another ASPI driver layer. This scanner is tested and works perfectly. You just need an SCSI card, install the ASPI driver layer for your card, plug the scanner, run photosmart.exe and you will be scanning negatives in no time.
